SCRAPBOOKING | Friday 28^th 10am-1pm OR Saturday 29^th 1pm-4pm

Create 2 beautiful 12×12 scrapbooking pages using gorgeous double sided designer series paper and stamps. We will be using the Big Shot Machine to create titles and accents. It is not necessary to bring photos as these may be added later. No previous experience necessary, this class is suitable for all ages.

TECHNIQUE BOUTIQUE | Sunday 30^th 2pm-5pm

Create 4 beautiful cards featuring sponged art pictures. This class will have you looking at your inks and stamps with a new light. This class is designed for papercrafters with some experience.

Create 6 beautiful cards featuring the ‘one sheet wonder’ technique. This quick and easy technique, will give you the confidence to create a stash of cards in no time at all. No previous experience necessary, this class is suitable for all ages.

Cost per class is $20 and may be paid on the day. Fee includes class materials and a beverage/snack. All classes are held in Liz’s Home Studio, 17 Mossvale Dve, Wakerley 5145. Places are strictly limited, so book in quickly.

School Holiday classes are suitable for adults and children. It is preferred if children are aged over 12, however, younger children will be considered if accompanied by a participating adult.

Please bring you ‘basic kit’ to each class. This includes a paper trimmer, tape runner, double sided foam tape, multipurpose liquid adhesive and scissors. If you do not have a kit, there will be starter kits available for sale. These include a paper trimmer, snail tape runner, one sheet of foam adhesive dots and multipurpose adhesive. This kit will be available at the special price of $40 during the school holiday period.

Managers and above were treated to early access to Memento Mall, which is like a special souvenir [...]]]> Convention 2012 in Canberra was fantastic, with heaps of wonderful presentations, people and product announcements! I have created 8 photo collages to share with you and I hope you enjoy hearing about Stampin’ Up!s much anticipated yearly event.

Managers and above were treated to early access to Memento Mall, which is like a special souvenir shop. This was because we had an early leadership session, which would mean we would otherwise get much later access. Bec, Ursula and I were excited to see all the mementos; including Stampin’ Up! branded clothing and useful items such as craft bins, snail tethers and bags – just to name a few.

It was so exciting, waiting for the Opening Session to start. The theme of the Convention was ‘I am’, which is reflective of Stampin’ Up!’s ‘My Way’ campaign which is basically highlighting that demonstrators can run their business to suit their needs and goals. From personal shopper through to a team leader, all demonstrators are welcomed and honored equally and are encouraged to put their own personal stamp on the way they run their business.

Prize patrol is a much anticipated part of Convention, where demonstrators have the chance to win new release product bundles. A number of Paper Angel Demonstrators were lucky enough to win, including Zena who managed to win attending her first Convention in the first session – you can tell she’s super happy!

Continuing along the theme of ‘I am’, Stampin’ Up! held Manager’s Reception was held in Parliament House, with an ‘ I am Australian’ theme. Bec and I were thrilled to have the company of Ursula, who recently achieved promotion to Manager. Next year we hope to welcome more Paper Angels along to this special event, where we enjoyed nibblies, chatting with Stampin’ Up! staff from both the Sydney and US office, hearing a presentation from Shelli Gardner (Co-founder and CEO of Stampin’ Up!), as well as a Q& A time. We gathered in the ‘Mural Hall’ which is pretty well under the central spire of Parliament House and there was an awful lot of security! I heard later that there was a late sitting of Parliament. Perhaps they were worried we would stow away or try to infiltrate parliament proceedings? Obviously no-one told them, we had better things to do – after all, we had day 2 of Convention to attend!

Day 2 was opened by Dave Baugh, whose position at Stampin’ Up! Home office is Vice President, Global Operations. We then split up into smaller groups to attend a variety of classes. Our first class was ‘Make & Takes’, which was great and that is where all the photographs are taken. I really enjoyed getting to know some new demonstrators to our Paper Angels Group as well as spending time with the ones that have been to many other events.

Day 2 also offered an optional evening class, which was taken up by a huge number of people. We made a 3D Advent Calendar and enjoyed lollies from the lolly table, if we were quick enough!

I managed to take a few photos of Paper Angels at this optional evening class, as well as the lovely Jeanette and Amelia.

Day 3 was fabulous and was wrapped up with the Awards & Recognition Banquet. The food was delicious, with a ‘Sesame Beef with Cucumber and Dill Salad’ for Entree, ‘Persian Fetta Stuffed Chicken Supreme, wrapped in Pancetta, Yellow Lentil Ragout, Coriander Rice Cake’ for Main & for dessert a ‘Pineapple and Banana Souffle’ – it was actually cold with an ice cream component, inside a chocolate cup – Oh my goodness, it was fabulous!

After the dinner we moved to the Main Stage/Royal Theatre in the Convention Centre, for the Awards Presentations. I’d love to share some images of the stage walks by myself, Ursula and Bec for 5+ years, sales and so on, however, from where we were sitting all our photos were rear views which to say the least were not too flattering! Instead I’m sharing some pictures with Stampin’ Up! Australian Office Staff, Jeanette and Ana, as well as Bec and I with Aaron who is the Regional Business Development Manager – we are holding our certificates for places in the final ‘Top 25 Demonstrators of the Year’. Bec received 16th position, whilst I received 12th. Stampin’ Up! has now changed their awards system and ‘Demonstrator of the Year’ will no longer be a part of the Awards System. Instead, they are moving towards a system where demonstrators are competing against themselves and their own personal goals, which I think is great. I am proud that I have achieved ‘Top 25′ for 6 consecutive years since Stampin’ Up! began, because I believe this achievement is a result of our entire team’s efforts. Thankyou to all the Paper Angels for your incredible work this year and your unwavering focus on sharing your skills and friendship with others, as well as making a difference in other people’s lives.

Last week the Paper Angels Demonstrators had a number of demonstrator meetings at various times and locations. We were treated to a very special make and take, thanks to the efforts of Felicity Laritz, who designed and created this awesome ‘Dinosaur Diorama Card’. More than 30 demonstrators learnt how to create this awesome boy’s card. If you were unable to make the demonstrator’s meeting or are a long distance demonstrator, Felicity kindly created a PDF instruction sheet to share with Paper Angels Demonstrators. Please email me if you would like an instruction sheet.

We will base our next demonstrator meeting challenge on this card. So if you are a Paper Angels Demonstrator, you are invited to create and bring to the meeting, your version of this card or something inspired by this card. I have heard demonstrators talking about ‘fairy scenes’, ‘underwater scenes’ etc. You are only limited by your own imagination. Great prizes on offer plus the fun of sharing your ideas! With May being the perfect time to join as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I thought I’d jot down some things you might not know about my life as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator as well as some things about Stampin’ Up! I hope that you read them and feel inspired to learn more about joining as a Demonstrator this month, with a member of the Paper Angels Team. I have been having a lovely time using ‘Attic Boutique’ Designer Series Paper! Stampin’ Up!’s coordinated products mean that I can create titles and accents to perfectly match. On this page I created a ribbon swap using the NEW Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon as well as a title accent using Pool Party & Calypso Coral Classic Inks. Interlocking mitered frames were created using the DSP.

I am running 2 classes in my home studio, where I will be teaching the 3 scrapbook pages I have uploaded using ‘Attic Boutique’ Designer Series Paper. Learn how to create ribbon swags, personalised accents and perfect mitered frames. Friday 4th May 10am-1pm OR Sunday 6th May 2pm-5pm. Class cost is $25 and you will complete 3 12×12 pages. Please bring your basic kit (adhesives, trimmer, scissors). Photos are not required as they may be added later. Bookings are essential and payment is preferred to secure your place. For those of you that thought I was forgetting to upload the balance of the recent demonstrator swaps, fear not! – I will be sharing the work of all 30 participants. As you can imagine this takes a bit of time, although I seem to be on a roll tonight! It seems to be like a rolling feast of creativity – at least there’s no such thing as overindulging in inspiration.

Another big thank-you to ALL our creative participants, four of whom decided to showcase the ‘Mixed Bunch’ Stamp Set on page 21 of the current NEW Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue! What we all love about this stamp set, apart from the gorgeous design, is that you can purchase a COORDINATING PUNCH! Yes, we all love to NOT have to cut these sort of images out with scissors don’t we! Oops, double negative, but I’m sure you know what I mean!

Gaye used ‘Twitterpated Designer Series Paper’, which I haven’t covered yet but that is super gorgeous, whilst Alice used a striking combination of Island Indigo with Real Red, and Jen made each of us am individually monogrammed card – neat idea! I’m loving card number 4 but I have no name on the back of the card, so if you are the designer, drop me an email and I’ll edit this post.
